Driver Training
Mana Coach Service is committed to an on-going
programme of staff training and professional development across
all sectors of our business.
Management has developed a programme to meet the
changing needs of our industry and to assist staff to maintain and
develop skills that will assist in the provision of quality, professional
public transport, tour and charter driving.
The Training Programme is delivered at three levels.
- Level 1 - Entry Level Training
Entry level training is provided to all staff within
the first year of employment. When our drivers commence employment,
they complete a comprehensive introductory training programme covering
all operational and administration aspects relating to their role
as a driver.
All staff then receive regular and ongoing training
focusing on specific needs as they are identified by:
- Day to day monitoring of staff work performance
- Annual performance appraisal of staff
- Monitoring of the staff training register
- Changes in Wellington Regional Council standard conditions of
contract
- Changes to company policy
The Company registers all driving staff with the
New Zealand Road Transport & Logistics ITO to work towards National
Qualifications in Commercial Road Transport, Local Route Service
and Long Distance Bus Driver Certificates. These qualifications
recognise the professional skills and qualities required to deliver
quality public transport to our customers. These skills and qualifications
are gained at Levels 2 & 3 of our Training programme.
- Level 2 - ITO Unit Standards
- Level 3 - Specific Needs Training
